When any kind of car crash occurs, the effects can be devastating. However, when several car accidents that share common factors happen, it can be particularly perplexing. Families may be left with more questions than answers as they attempt to go on without their loved one. This is the situation that law enforcement here in Arizona is facing after multiple crashes involving wrong-way drivers.

According to authorities, the most recent incident is the only one that has proved fatal. Police say that a driver heading northbound in the southbound lanes of a highway struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle died at the scene before treatment could be administered. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was not seriously injured. Her car allegedly hit a third vehicle, but that driver was unharmed.

Two other similar crashes happened just a couple of days before this fatal crash. Officers say that those two other incidents were due to impaired driving and both drivers were driving the wrong way when they hit another vehicle. Authorities say that since the beginning of the year, they have made 70 arrests of impaired wrong-way drivers.

No matter what type of crash occurred, tragedies like these can hurt a victim’s family forever. It is important that those who lose loved ones to car accidents like these know that they have several available legal options. An experienced personal injury attorney can help a family through this kind of difficult time and work to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
